Portraits were originally painted using water colours on fine animal skins and enclosed in a locket, and later painted in enamel for a more durable keepsake. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese miniature ceramic pendants are inspired by the tradition. Each one is handmade using white stoneware clay with a small nichrome wire hook. After the bisque firing, they are carefully hand painted using underglazes and the tiniest brushes possible.
